Symposia and Meetings
In June of each year, The Hilltop Institute sponsors a symposium on a timely health policy issue, bringing together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policy makers. In addition, Hilltop hosts policy forums and other meetings throughout the year that address issues related to publicly funded health care.
June 2008 Symposium
Developing Comprehensive Oral Health Policy: Challenges and Opportunities for State Health Policy Makers, June 17, 2008
On June 17, 2008, Hilltop sponsored a symposium exploring three major areas of oral health policy innovation to improve access to and utilization of oral health care: integration of dental and medical service delivery; dental workforce issues; and health education and outreach strategies. Moving Forward: Designing and Financing Effective Mental Health Services in an Era of Transformation, June 12, 2007
On June 12, 2007, Hilltop (as the Center) sponsored a symposium examining the evolving mental health system, how efforts to diffuse evidence-based practices and better coordinate services across agencies and branches of medicine are paying off, and the extent to which Medicaid managed care and other newer programming and financing strategies are helping transform the system.
