The Hilltop Institute maintains several large health services databases that can be made available to faculty, researchers, and students as sources for research, publications, and dissertations on federal and state health policy. The databases include survey, Medicare, hospital discharge, and nursing home data; managed care reports; and all of Maryland's Medicaid data on claims, encounters, eligibility, and providers. Hilltop processes nearly 5 million Medicaid records each month, creating yearly databases in excess of 50 million records. Hilltop also warehouses New Mexico's Medicaid data and processes over 7½ million of these records each month. State-of-the-art electronic data transfer ensures that Hilltop receives databases as soon as they become available.
